Location

The city every sunrise, tithi and rahu kaal on this surface is computed for. It is guessed from your time zone until you choose one, and the guess is labelled as a guess rather than shown as a fact — sunrise moves about four minutes for every degree of longitude and a time zone can be forty degrees wide.

Clock

How every time on every page here is written. 24 Plus is the panchang convention: a panchang day runs sunrise to sunrise, so a period that ends at 01:12 the next morning ends inside today, and counting on to 25:12 says that where 01:12 says the opposite.

Sections on the daily panchang

Which cards appear on the front page. What is running right now and the method line at the foot are not on this list and will not be: the first is the answer, and a convention you can switch off is not a convention anyone declared.

Chart style

Which way the kundli is drawn. Both are correct and the split is regional: North Indian fixes the houses to the paper and rotates the signs, South Indian fixes the signs and rotates the houses. Every region of both prints both numbers, because they look identical and mean opposite things.

Palette

Four seats, shared with every other site in this network. Until now the only way to reach them was the button in the header, which cycles — this shows all four and picks one. With nothing chosen, the first visit follows whatever your device is set to; once you choose, the choice is yours and the operating system does not reach in and undo it at sunset.

Language

English only, and that is a deliberate order rather than an oversight — Hindi is a planned phase and it comes after the English pages have earned their place, because a half-translated panchang is worse than an untranslated one. There is nothing to choose here yet, and this section exists to say so rather than to leave you looking for it.
